My Thanksgiving Mani!

Hello All!
I know this is super late (really, really late) but this is my Thankgiving mani! I didn't get all fancy with leaves and Turkeys and stuff, I decided to go super simple with an Autumn themed Skittle!

And you all will see my thumb in this post! (*gasp*) I know, it's been hiding, but my hand poses look so awkward with my thumb in there,
(you will see what I mean in a bit)

So for this mani, I used Zoya Blaze on my Thumb, OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest on my pointer finger, Megan Miller's Ganache on my middle finger, butter London Shag on my ring finger and then China Glaze Riveting on my pinky, and then over the top of all of them, I put China Glaze Fair Dust to give it a bit of sparkle!

My nails were so shiny and sparkly it was insane, I would distract myself constantly, thank goodness I wasn't working!

I apologize in advance for the Tipwear!

I live and I am back, sorta.

Hello All,
I want to apologize for my long absence. Life and unexpected circumstances caught up to me. I got pregnant at the end of November, and the first Trimester hit me pretty hard!

I was tired, and nauseous and the smell of nail polish made me sick! Which doesn't help a nail polish blogger!

But Thankfully, I am well into my second trimester! In fact, I am 20 weeks along today! So far everything is going well, and we will find out the baby's gender next week. Which I am super excited and nervous about all at the same time. (I really, really want a boy!)

So, I am sorry about just disappearing like that, but I am healthy and safe as is my baby.

I should have a few posts up for you next week, including one I did.. over Thanksgiving! (It's been awhile!)

Thanks!

A fun striping tape mani!

Hello All!

I have a pretty fun mani today for you. I saw this one on pintrest, and it was stunning, (I don't know who actually did it, but I did not create this look, just to be clear!)

But I couldn't do it until I got striping Tape, which I think is a necessity for every blogger to have in their nail arsenal! But I couldn't find it anywhere! Enter the Born Pretty Store, they e-mailed me and asked if I could review something for them and I jumped at the chance and picked out this lovely Striping tape!. It comes with 12 packs of striping tape, and it is perfect for all those striping tape mani's, like the one I am going to show you!

First off, I started out with Gosh Holographic as a base, and then I placed the striping tape on my nails, and painted Milani's Black Swift over it, and then while it was still wet, I peeled off the striping tape and voila!!

So simple and so easy and yet such a stunning result!

So what do you all think??

And if you go to the Born Pretty Store you can put in my code AEL91 and get 10 percent off your order!

What do you think? Would you use striping tape?

Gosh Holographic Hero!

Hello All!

So, today I have a pretty special post for you. It's Gosh's Holographic Hero! Yes, I couldn't get the original  but I really like this one. And that is saying something for me.

Most of you know (or don't, but are going to find out soon) That I don't really like Holo's. Now before you grab your torch and pitchfork, hear me out! To see Holo's in their full glory you need sun. And I, as most of you know (Or don't, but soon will) live near Seattle, Washington, where, and I quote Sleepless in Seattle here "It rains nine months out of the year in Seattle."

You see my problem?

No sun, no amazing Holo's.. no glorious polishes! They all look rather bland in the shade which is sad!

However my outlook has been changing a bit, starting with the lovely butter London Holo's and now, I have this one, (And I just bought some of the Color Club Halo Hues, but it has been storming for the past week. boo)

And that brings us to this, Holographic Hero.

It's an amazing silver linear Holo polish that goes on super well! I used two coats for the below pictures and no top coat! I tried to get as much of the Holo as I could!

Enjoy!

Fun with Striping tape!

Hello All!

First let me preface this by saying that I don't have some epic mani that I spent hours on, it's a simple striping tape mani that I did a few weeks ago, simply because I got inspired!

And who inspired me?

This post from the Manicurator! Amazing isn't it?? I love her nails, and her swatches and her nail art and the Lady herself, Victoria is amazing!

So for this mani, I used a base coat of aEngland's Perceval, which I had been wearing for a few days, and then taped off small sections on my nails using striping tape that I got from the Born Pretty Store!

After my fingers were all taped off, (it looked pretty funny mind you!) I used Gosh Holographic Hero and painted in the bottom and second from the top Square, I used butter London Fishwife for the third square and Milani's Black swift for the top!

Pretty nifty ehh? Also, a great way to get rid of untrieds!

I took off all the tape, topcoated and Voila!

aEngland Perceval

Hello All!

I apologize for the lack in posts lately, the holiday season is really busy at my work, and it is just starting to pick up, so I am going to be pretty busy with that. I already feel stressed and our big day hasn't even happened! So, I hope all of you have been doing well? I missed blogging and doing my nails, but I've been so busy lately, everything seems to go by the wayside!

Yay for real life.

Anyways, onto the polish!

As you will see I have made a bit of a change here at Munchy's Nails, my pictures will now have a black background! Woo! I think it makes things look much cleaner.

Okay, today we have aEngland's Perceval which is a bight red shimmer. It's so beautiful! I usually don't like red, but this polish is such a stunner, and it went on amazing as well. Two easy coats and I was done!

Also look how long my nails were! (I cut them down a few weeks ago.) This is pretty much as long as they have ever been! I was so excited, until my ring finger nail broke and I had to chop them all down.

What do you all think of the black background?? And what do you think of this amazing polish? Breathtaking isn't it? Perfect for all those holiday parties! I hope you all have a great day!

Smitten Polish!

Hello All!

Today I have some amazing Smitten Polishes for you! I love Smitten Polish and the creator of them is so sweet and nice! I seriously want to own all of her polishes they are so amazing!!

Today, I have two for you, You're turning Violet, Violet and Pure Imagnination! Don't you just love the names? I love Willy Wonka so much, especially the new one with Johnny Depp. And every time I see Pure Imagination, I start to sing the song in my head.. (Come with me, and you'll be.. in a world of pure imagination!)

Anyways, let me preface this, but saying, pictures cant not even come to to capturing how amazing these polished were! They are packed with Hologrpahic glitter, and so every time you turn your nail, you are nearly blinded by the rainbows on your fingers.. The pictures however do not show that :(

You're Turning Violet, Violet, is a purple jelly filled with holo glitters! It went on super well, and I had no trouble at all with application. It did take a few layers of top coat to get it smooth though, so be warned! And Pure Imagination is Holo Glitters in a Blue base!! Super amazing as well, and there was no application problems!

The last two pictures are blurred to give you just a taste of the amazing Holo-ness of these glitters! Amazing aren't they? You. NEED them! :D
